How expensive is Goa ? a tourist view point

Goa is for everyone. It fits every budget size, every pocket. No matter if you are are budget a traveller, luxury or mid segment traveller. Goa has lot to offer to everyone. The most important thing that you need to keep in mind is the season. Prices in Goa vary a lot based on the season, whether you prefer south or North Goa, beach or inland, premium or average establishments . so plan your trip accordingly.

Here is a brief analysis of pricing trends for cafes, restaurants, bars, night clubs, hotels based on mid segment traveller needs for an averg season.

Hotels/ Accomodation

Budget / Guesthouses / 1-star / 2-star ₹3,000-₹5,000. Basic amenities, often further from major beaches or major tourist infrastructure.

Mid-range / 3-star ₹5,000-₹8,500+ Better location, nicer rooms, possibly with breakfast, AC, etc.

4-star~ US$ 90-120+ ₹7,500-₹10,000+ Resorts, beach-side properties, more upscale finishes.

5-star / Luxury~ US$ 200-250+ ₹15,000-₹20,000+ Peak season, premium locations, high demand.

🍽️ Meals, Cafés & Restaurants

  • Cover or entry fees for clubs: expect ₹1,000-₹1,600 + sometimes includes a drink or two. E.g., at Chronicle in Vagator, ~₹1,600 is quoted for entry which is redeemable against food/drinks.
  • Beach parties or special events can cost more, especially for premium DJ nights, special themes, etc. Sometimes you’ll see cover charges lower (₹500-₹800) when it’s a smaller event.
  • Most of the premium night clubs have no entry fee but they do charge stags an entrey fee and ladies walk in free.
  • During peak season most of the premium clubs charge cover charge starting from 3k to 5k per entry which includes few drinks.
